We want you to enjoy your walking, so we hope you will find a level that best suits you. It is better to start with one of our less demanding strolls and then move up to more strenuous treks. All our walks are lead by experienced volunteers who have undergone basic first aid training and incident management. The heart symbols give a guide to what you can expect on each walk.
GENTLE Relatively flat, and a gentle pace taking about 1 hour to complete over a distance of 1 - 1½ miles.
LEG STRETCHERS These walks will be at a moderate pace. They will involve some stiles, steps and gentle hills taking 1½ hours to complete but over a distance of 2½ to 3½ miles.
These walks will still be at a moderate pace but they will involve off road walking, stiles and considerable gradients. They will cover distance of 3½ to 4 ½ miles and take 1½ - 2 hours to complete. However, if you are unsure about your level of fitness we recommend that you try one of the more gentle walks first.
TREKS 'N TRAILS
WHICH WALK ?
These longer walks will definitely involve 'off road' walking with stiles and gradients. They will be from 5 to 7 miles long and are a good introduction to further walking. They will take 2 to 3 hours to complete.
